Dale J. Turner was raised on a farm in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. He graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelors in Forestry and Wildlife in 1977. He is also a U.S. Army Veteran.
He worked 11 years as an Area Forester for Continental Forest Industries in Wrens, GA and Louisa, VA. He was an Area Manager for 10 years for Bear Island Paper Company and managed 70,000 acres of timberland, purchased and sold land, and wood procurement for the paper mill in Ashland, VA.
Dale has worked for 24 years self-employed as a consulting forester conducting timber sales, coordinating timber harvests for landowners, prescribed burning and real estate broker specializing in timberland.
